Peelings

Mediclinic uses products from Dermaceutic. Depending on your skin type and condition, we recommend one or more peelings with an interval of 2 to 4 weeks. If you are unsure which peeling is suitable for your skin, we can advise you.

What is a chemical peeling?
A chemical peel is an exfoliation (flaking skin cells) stimulated by a chemical solution. Dermaceutic superficial peelings contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHA), more specifically glycolic acid. For more gentle peelings we use TCA (trichloroacetic acid).
What is the advantage of a chemical peeling?
It is a completely natural and efficient method to improve skin texture. Your complexion is fresher, pores refined, acne diminished, wrinkles reduced and pigmentation lightened. With minimal effort you get maximum results without needles, laser or surgery.
Do I have to prepare my skin for a treatment?
It is recommended to start with a night cream based on glycolic acid at least two weeks beforehand.
How is the treatment?
A session lasts about 20 'to 30' and consists of a double cleansing, the application of the peeling. We neutralise athe skin and apply a restorative and protective cream. For the best results it is recommended to have 2 to 4 treatments with an interval of 2 to 4 weeks.
What are the side effects?
During treatment, the skin may tingle slightly, without being painful. A few days after the treatment, the skin may feel dry. Skin pellicules can be removed with a soft rub. A moisturiser is essential and non-comedogenic makeup is allowed.
